Kielikurssin kuvaus

The Intensive course is for students who want to maximize their language learning practice during their stay in an English speaking country. The courses focus heavily on developing English language skills and exam preparation classes. There is one week that is classroom based. English language classes are held each morning and exam preparation classes in the afternoons.

The other two weeks of the course are based around informal learning including educational day trips, political speakers, talks on;
- Business & Enterprise
- Local, National & International politics
- Sustainability
and much more.

As there has become an increased awareness of the STEAM fields in education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics this also features strongly in the programme. STEAM is designed to integrate STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths into various relevant education disciplines. STEAM programs add art to STEM curriculum by drawing on design principles and encouraging creative solutions.

For group bookings faculty led courses are available subject to terms and conditions.

CIAA / EEI sijaitseet kielikouluja lähellä Galway ja on yksi Irlanti suosituimmista kouluista. Koulu on erikoistunut opettamaan Englanti sinun kaltaisllesi ulkomaisille opiskelijoille. Koulun opetusryhmän koko on pieni (24 students maximum) ja sen opettajat puhuvat Englanti äidinkielenään. Heillä on myös erityisen ystävällinen opettaja- ja henkilökunta, jotka pitävät sinuta hyvää huolta Galway oleskelusi ajan.

Koulun sijainti

Salthill is a seaside area in the City of Galway in the west of Ireland. Salthill boasts a 2 km long promenade, locally known as ‘the Prom’, overlooking the world renowned Galway Bay with bars, restaurants and hotels.

Salthill is a 20 minute stroll into the well know gem that is Galway City, which was voted Best in Travel 2020 award from Lonely Planet;

‘Arty, bohemian Galway (Gaillimh) is one of Ireland's most engaging cities. Brightly painted pubs heave with live music, while restaurants and cafes offer front-row seats for observing buskers and street theatre. Remnants of the medieval town walls lie between shops selling handcrafted Claddagh rings, books and musical instruments, bridges arch over the salmon-stuffed River Corrib, and a long promenade leads to the seaside suburb of Salthill, on Galway Bay, the source of the area's famous oysters.
While it's steeped in history, the city buzzes with a contemporary vibe, thanks in part to students, who make up around a fifth of the population. Its energy and creativity have seen it designated a European Capital of Culture for 2020.’

Hospitality is ingrained in Irish culture, and we believe that there is no better way for students to immerse themselves in the Irish culture than by experiencing life as a member of a family. You will not just observe life in Ireland but actually live it just as a native does.

Our "home away from home" offers all the comfort and security a parent would want for their
child. There is reassurance in knowing that students will have a family who is looking out for
them and wants to facilitate their health, happiness and safety in an unfamiliar environment.
Families are carefully and personally selected by CIAA.

All homes are within a 20-minutes walk of the base camp - St Enda's College, within a 15 minutes bus ride of the city centre, and within a one-mile radius of the leaders' accommodation, to ensure logistical ease and speed of access. Every night, we will be in contact with each host family to check that everything is in order. There is an agreed curfew, which must be adhered to.

Students will benefit from having tasty home-cooked food and the chance to learn more
about traditional Irish cooking and cuisine. Continental breakfast will be served every
morning, a light lunch will consist of sandwiches and snack, and evening meal will consist of
a 2-course dinner including a hot plate. Students are expected to inform us of any dietary
requirements in advance of the trip.

Students will have a warm, comfortable single bedroom.
